USA: Savannah District Prepares for Major Dredging Project

The US Army Corps of Engineers, Savannah District, has presented the details about the Savannah Harbor dredging plan.

The dredging work will be undertaken in the Savannah Harbor entrance channel, located in Chatham County, GA, and Jasper County S.C.

The dredged material disposal will take place in the Jones Oysterbed Island Confined Upland Disposal Area.

During this cleanup program, between 11 and 13 million cubic yards of unclassified and maintenance material will be removed from the mentioned area, and the total cost will be between $100 mln and $250 mln.
