Duck Beach Nourishment Project Video Update

The Town of Duck’s beach nourishment project continues to progress with the arrival of Great Lakes Dredge & Dock (GLDD) dredge Dodge Island.

The dredge arrived on site on Sunday, May 28, to begin pumping operations near the Ocean Bay Boulevard beach access.

According to Dare County latest video update, GLDD continues to work south and build a pad on which the equipment will be stored. Once complete, the crew will begin working north from this site towards the project’s northern boundary.

Meanwhile, the Liberty Island dredge is busy working south from Widgeon Dr to the project’s southern border.

The county also announced that the dredge Padre Island is expected to be on the site in the next couple of days.
