Jan De Nul chooses Alewijnse

Jan De Nul Group has awarded Alewijnse a contract for the renewal of all dredging process automation systems on board four of JDN’s trailing suction hopper dredgers (TSHDs).

“The main reason for choosing Alewijnse was the confidence in its automation specialism and its 24/7 service support,” said Jan De Nul.

Under the contract, on board the Francis Beaufort (11,300 m³), Filippo Brunelleschi (11,300 m³), Juan Sebastián de Elcano (16,500 m³) and Kaishuu (16,500 m³), Alewijnse will optimize the process automation in such a way that maximum benefits are achieved in the areas of environment, safety, productivity and reliability.

On board of each of the four dredgers, Alewijnse will renew and supply the Alarm and Monitoring System (AMS), Dredge Control System (DCS), Alewijnse Draught and Loading System (ADLS) and the Alewijnse Suction Tube System (ASTS).

In this regard, the company will provide advanced new HMI and PLC hardware, hardware engineering, software engineering, FAT testing and Bureau Veritas Classification.
