The agreements with Mineral Resources and Pilbara Minerals will enable Pilbara Ports to move on to the next stages of this construction project.

Minister for Ports, David Michael said that it was fantastic to see the first customers secured, a critical step in the overall project.

The project has been progressing rapidly, with the seawalls at Lumsden Point nearing completion, enabling the next stages of the project to get underway, including dredging and causeway construction,” said Michel. “It’s fantastic to see the first customers secured, a crucial step in the overall project.”

Once completed, the Lumsden Point will provide new multi-user facilities, including a general cargo berth and minerals export berth. This important piece of infrastructure will expand trade opportunities in the Pilbara, and support growing renewable industries around the world.
