Government’s Beach Renourishment Program Starts (Australia)

Thousands of tonnes of sand will be put back on to eroded beaches at Blairgowrie, Rosebud and Rye as part of the State Government’s beach renourishment program.

The beaches will be back in top shape by summer, the Department of Sustainability and Environment said.

Work started at Blairgowrie Beach last week to dredge 10,000 cubic metres of sand from the harbour to the eastern end of the beach.
