USA: Lake Gregory Dredging Project Postponed

The long awaited dredging program at the swimming and beach area at Lake Gregory has been postponed again, reports mountain-news.com.

Rick Dinon, chairperson for the Lake Gregory Improvement Committee, stated: “We were told that the Lahontan Regional Water Quality Control Board wanted new conditions for doing the dredging.”

He added: “The plan proposed by Regional Parks wasn’t acceptable to Lahontan. But what that means now is county having to re-engineer the project. That has shoved everything back at least six weeks, so now we’re looking at early February to start dredging.”

The main reason for this delay is that the Lahontan Regional Water Quality Control Board officials objected to the county’s approach to the project, saying it would create water quality issues.
