Singapore: Queen Beatrix to visit NUSDeltares

Queen Beatrix to visit NUSDeltares

The state visit of Queen Beatrix, Prince Willem-Alexander and Princess Maxima to Singapore on 24 and 25 January, will also include a visit to NUSDeltares, the alliance of Deltares and The National University of Singapore (NUS) in the field of water management.

On 25 January, the Royal Party will visit the NUSDeltares Aquatic Science Centre, the centre for research and training. There will be presentations for them on Urban Water Management and Building with Nature and they will also have a tour. The visit will be jointly hosted by Vladan Babovic of NUSDeltares and Harry Baayen, of Deltares, together with the National University of Singapore. In NUSDeltares, the National University of Singapore (NUS) and Deltares, combine their knowledge of water management for the Singapore and Southeast Asia region.

NUSDeltares conducts research and provides advice on matters such as urban water management, climate adaptation, water management systems and the reduction of (environmental) effects of natural disasters. To achieve this, a network of consultants and researchers has been established in Southeast Asia and studies and courses are offered on site.

The Aquatic Science Centre (ASC) is an environmental laboratory, which also houses experimental facilities for scientific studies. The ASC is also used for training and seminars.
