Senator Pleased with EPA's Decision on Kalamazoo Dredging

Sen. Levin has announced the following statement on EPA’s decision to perform an additional dredging to remove oil from Kalamazoo River:

“I am glad EPA is ordering Enbridge to do additional dredging to remove the submerged oil that they left in the Kalamazoo River. It has been nearly three years since about a million gallons were released into the river, and EPA should continue to press Enbridge to promptly finish the remainder of the cleanup, including removal of all contaminated sediments. Enbridge needs to take full responsibility for ensuring that public health is protected and the disastrous mess they created is fully cleaned up.”
