Oman Continental Shelf Project Includes Dredging

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman has awarded Gardline CGG with the contract for the Oman continental shelf extension survey works.

The agreement aims to prepare a comprehensive file to complete the extension of the limits of the continental shelf in accordance with Article 76 of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).

This project will consist of three distinct but consecutive survey phases.

First phase includes long offset broadband 2D seismic with multibeam bathymetry, gravity and magnetic data acquisition. Second phase will be a detailed multibeam bathymetry and sub-bottom profiling campaign. Third and final phase will be a deep water rock dredging and TV-Grab campaign.

The five-month project is scheduled to start in early October 2015.
