Dredging works at the Cape Jaffa Anchorage Marina have re-commenced, the South Australian Kingston District Council reports.

Full access to the marina remains in place and commercial and recreational fishers are asked to use caution when passing the dredge or pipework, the council stated.

Dredging of the retention area will be in the focus until the pipe under the main channel (western breakwater to the eastern side) is in place.

According to an official announcement, “dredging the retention area has the benefit of increasing the buffer within the marina therefore helping to protect the main channel.”

Once the channel pipe is in place, work will begin on the outside of the western breakwater and will remain the priority dredging area.
