The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Detroit District, has just announced that the 96th Coastal Engineering Research Board (CERB) meeting will occur August 13-14, 2019 in Detroit, Michigan.

The CERB provides guidance to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on coastal engineering research.

This 96th meeting will focus on: Sediment Transport and Regional Sediment Management.

The CERB, comprised of four Corps of Engineers senior officers and three civilian engineers/scientists who are experts in the field of coastal engineering, was established by Public Law 88-172 in November 1963 as an advisory board to the Chief of Engineers on matters pertaining to coastal engineering, shore erosion and shore protection.

The board usually meets twice a year at various coastal and Great Lakes locations, said USACE.

This meeting will be hosted by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Great Lakes and Ohio River Division and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Detroit District.
