DCI secures Paradip Port deal

Dredging Corporation of India (DCI) has scooped maintenance dredging contract for one of the major ports in the country, the Paradip Port.

The contract worth over $14 million was awarded to DCI by Paradip Port Trust for the period May 2021 to mid-March 2022.

According to the official release, DCI has already started maintenance dredging works in the approach channel.

In total, the project will include dredging of seven million cubic meters of soil from the approach channel, entrance channel, turning circle, docks, and Mahanadi River sand trap in Paradip, Odisha.

Most of the dredging works will take place in the approach channel (approx. 2.3 million cubic m³) and entrance channel (1.6 million cubic m³).

For the project, the company is deploying their state-of-the-art hopper dredgers the DCI Dredge-XX and DCI Dredge-XVII, as well as other ancillary equipment needed for the works.
