According to the DPWH Regional Office No. IV-A, once completed, this dredging project will have a huge impact in terms of the improvement of the flood control system in the municipality of Siniloan.

The dredging campaign, which started in September 2021, has a target volume of 227,880 cubic meters. Currently, over 60% of works have been completed, which is equivalent to approx. 130,000 cubic meters of dredged material removed from the river so far.

The objectives of this dredging project are to improve and rehabilitate the Romelo River. The project is very essential to the Local Government Unit and to the residents residing in low-lying areas that are affected by massive flooding, concluded DPWH.
