USA: Crescent City Harbor Dredging Plan on Commission’s Agenda

According to times-standard.com, the Crescent City Harbor District is moving forward on obtaining permits for harbor repairs.

The commission will review a few permits regarding repairs on the inner and outer basin of the harbor.

Some of the special conditions staff is recommending include a submittal of an erosion and sedimentation control plan and a final debris disposal plan — both are expected to minimize impacts to water quality.

The outer boat basin would require dredging, excavation of damaged materials and the placement of new rock along parts of the shoreline.

”Principal issues raised by the proposed project are impacts to eelgrass beds associated with the dredging and repairs and buttressing of the rock slope protection along the shoreline embankments,” the report said.
