Ocean City Council Meeting on Dredging Contract Set for Thursday (USA)

As shorenewstoday.com reports, the Ocean City Council will hold a special meeting 6 p.m. Thursday, May 3 at City Hall, 861 Asbury Ave., to consider adoption of a resolution to award a contract for back bay dredging.

“We will bring it back to you at a special meeting next week, city business administrator Mike Dattilo told council. “We do not have the permit yet.”

He said the city had completed the requisite application with the Army Corps of Engineers.

It’s an ambitious plan,” he said, of the city’s desire to dredge lagoons and the bayfront from Waterview Road to 16th Street this summer.

“A lot of things have to continue to go right,” he said.

Dattilo said there had been rumors that only the mouths of the lagoons would be dredged.
