Successful Bathy DataBASE Training in Australia

CARIS Asia Pacific recently held an open training course in Adelaide, Australia for the new release of Bathy DataBASE 4.0.

The course attracted a number of new and current users ranging from port authorities, charting agencies and private survey companies. Participants received hands-on experience with dedicated workstations over the three-day training course.

Topics during the training included the analysis and management of bathymetric data, product creation and database administration. In addition, new features of the recent 4.0 release were covered, such as surface grouping, 64-bit functionality and database connection and querying tools. The training also functioned as a mini user group meeting, with current users comparing data, workflows and collaborating ideas.

This was the second year running that an open Bathy DataBASE course has been held in the region. With an increasing demand for training from a rapidly growing user base, it is likely that CARIS Asia Pacific will host an annual open Bathy DataBASE training course in addition to the open HIPS course, which has now been running for six years.
