Operations will be carried out by Van Oord’s vessel Thor using the water injection dredging method and will be undertaken either side of the high water period.

Requirements to proceed with caution or at slow speed will be made in accordance with the procedure, the Authority said.

Water injection dredging (WID) is an eco-friendly and cost-effective technique that uses low-pressure, high-volume water jets to fluidize settled sediments on the seabed.

Works are expected to take 3 working days.
