Corps Announces Barbours Terminal Dredging Plan

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has announced a plan for the dredging project at the Barbours Terminal, Main Channel and Turning Basin, and HSC Morgan’s Point.

The work consist of dredging of approximately 300,000 cubic yards of maintenance material from the Barbours Cut Terminal Main Channel as well as dredging approximately 1,300,000 CY from the Houston Ship Channel Morgan’s Point to S.H. 146 bridge reach.

Option 1 will consist of approximately 45,000 CY of material in the Barbours Cut Turning Basin.

Option 2 will consist of approximately 78,000 CY of material in the Port of Houston Docks adjacent to the Barbours Cut Terminal Main Channel. No levee work.

Estimated solicitation issue date is on 30 January 2013. The estimated cost range for this project is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000.
