Quays Marinas: “Little Orme” Proves Her Worth (UK)

Little Orme Proves Her Worth

Seen here against the backdrop of her namesake, the ‘Little Orme’ is making good progress with the annual dredge at Conwy Quays Marina and is now two thirds of the way through the winter campaign.

The dredger, purchased in 2011 jointly by Quay Marinas and The Crown Estate, is making a significant difference to depths at Conwy. Quay Marinas’ aspiration is that, after next years dredge which will mainly cover the Budget Berth area , we will be able to leave the sill gate in the down position during the entire daytime tidal cycle during summer neaps thus very much improving marina access for our customers.

Jon Roberts, Manager at Conwy Quays Marina said ‘We are delighted with the progress that we are making with the ‘Little Orme’ and she is proving an invaluable asset to the marina. In the past siltation has been a difficult issue but we really feel that we are getting on top of this now’.

Dredging work at Deganwy Quays Marina will be starting in early March.
