DNR Releases Emergency Dredging Plan

Three Southwest Michigan harbors are scheduled to receive an emergency dredging program, reports wsjm.com.

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources Emergency Dredging Plan, worth around US$1.5 million, includes:

– $1 million for the New Buffalo Municipal Marina dredging;

– $436,000 for the South Haven Municipal Marina dredging;

– $105,000 for the St. Joseph West Basin Marina harbor dredging.

Regarding this plan, State Representative Al Pscholka said: “This is a first step in the right direction, we need to continue to work with the department and others to make sure our harbors are safe, useful and productive.”
