Sino-Burma Dredging Project Completed

Sino–Burma Dredging Project Completed

On April 26, the basic and channel dredging project of Sino–Burma Crude Oil Pipeline Wharf was fully completed, 4 days earlier than the deadline of the contract period.

Since its commencement, the basin and channel dredging project has been affected by bomb under water in the construction area left by WWII, crossing of channel and the pipeline of DAEWOO Gas Company of South Korea, and large waves. In face of the difficulties, CCC Tianjin Dredging Co., Ltd. and the Company stayed calm and made a scientific and reasonable solution: firstly, they detected, salvage and cleared away the underwater suspected explosive to resolve the influence of underwater explosive in the channel construction area.

Secondly, they actively carried out the channel relocation design change, conducted investigation, design and construction at the same time, seized the key points and made an overall arrangement, and maximally guaranteed the normal dredging construction while accelerating the channel relocation design change.

Thirdly, they adopted advanced Tianlin Cutter Suction Dredger with two positioning systems of steel pile positioning and three-cable positioning to effectively cope with the large waves and complex sea conditions and guarantee the normal channel dredging and rock breaking construction.

As of April 26, 2013, the channel dredging project has taken 588 days. It has completed the original channel dredging of 4,148,400m3, new channel dredging of 14,413,500m3 (the project amount on the construction drawing, excluding the back-silting during the construction period); it has cleared away 1574 underwater suspected explosives and the whole channel reached the designed depth of -22.8m.

The channel dredging task was successfully completed, which showed the sincere cooperation between the Company and CCC Tianjin Dredging Co., Ltd. and their management level.
