Army Corps Introduces Charleston Channel Dredging Plan

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Charleston District, has announced a plan for the Joint Base Charleston Channel dredging program.

The work consists of:

– Maintenance dredging of approximately 1,242,000 cubic yards of unclassified material from the Joint Base Charleston Channel located in Berkeley County, South Carolina;

– Dredging of 50,000 cubic yards of unclassified material at TC Dock located in Charleston County, South Carolina;

– Dredging of 174,000 cubic yards of unclassified material at Shoal 5 Wharf Alpha located in Berkeley County, South Carolina.

The dredged material from Joint Base Charleston Channel will be deposited in the Yellow House Creek or Joint Base Charleston Disposal Areas and the material from TC Dock shall be deposited in Joint Base Charleston Disposal Areas or the Clouter Creek Disposal Area Highway Cell.

The value of this contract is between $1 mln and $5 mln.
