UK: River Trent Dredging Underway (VIDEO)

River Trent Dredging Underway

On behalf of the Canal & River Trust, the Land & Water crews are dredging the River Trent between Marton Mill and Cromwell Lock.

The scope of the dredging will also include Torksey Cut.

Craft operators should be aware of the likelihood of passing the dredger and follow any instructions from the crews where appropriate, announced theboatingassociation.co.uk.

The River Trent is one of Britain’s longest navigable rivers. It was also one of the first to be used for carrying goods over long distances, as long ago as 1000BC it was used as part of a trade route between the continent and Ireland.
