Corps Invites Bids for Great Kills Harbor Dredging

The Army Corps of Engineers, New York District, has announced a plan for the Great Kills Harbor dredging project.

The proposed maintenance dredging work is expected to involve the removal of approximately 252,000 cubic yards of sand from the mentioned area, and to create a depth of 10 feet below Mean Lower Low Water (MLLW) plus 2 feet allowable overdepth.

This deepening program is estimated to cost between $1 mln and $5 mln, and the bid opening date will be on/about 23 January 2014.
