Ust-Luga Prepares for Dredging Project

The Ust-Luga container terminal dredging program will commence soon, according to portnews.ru.

This maintenance dredging project at Russia’s first greenfield container terminal developed in the deep sea port will cost about $70.000 (RUB 2.5 mln).

The source of financing will be internal funds, and the deadline for application of bids is March 28, 2014, announced North West Basin Branch of FSUE Rosmorport.

After full development, Ust-Luga container terminal will be the largest and the most technologically advanced facility in Russia and Eastern Europe with depth alongside up to 16 m and throughput capacity of 2.6 M TEU.
