Senator Praises Passage of WRRDA

U.S. Senator Saxby Chambliss applauded the Senate’s approval of the Conference Report on H.R.3080, the Water Resources Reform and Development Act. The measure was approved by a vote of 91-7, and will now go to the president Obama for his signature.

Speaking on the floor of the Senate, Chambliss noted that “the passage of this bill, with the enhanced authorization it contains for the Savannah Harbor Expansion Project, will be the culmination of years of work by the state of Georgia and project stakeholders – and my entire time serving in the Georgia congressional delegation. It has been my number one economic priority for Georgia while in office.”

“This bill represents the fulfillment of a commitment I made to my constituents to see the harbor deepening through, and I look forward to the day when I am in Savannah, breaking ground on this project.”
