Questions Invited for Lake Decatur Dredging Project
Decatur City Council and Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Corporation will today hold a meeting to discuss details about the future of Lake Decatur Dredging Basins 1-4 and Oakley Sediment Basin Rehabilitation Contract (City Project W1314).
The meeting will allow residents to ask questions about the city’s $89 million dredging project and receive updates on the future of the project.
The project, which will be performed by the Rivers & Lakes division, will dredge nearly 11 million cubic yards of material from Lake Decatur Basins 1-4 and rehabilitate the Oakley Sediment Basin at the site.
Once completed, the project will restore the lake’s capacity by approximately 30 percent. Great Lakes’ subsidiary, Terra Contracting Services, LLC, will be responsible for the Oakley Sediment Basin rehabilitation portion of the contract.
The project is scheduled to be completed in late 2019.
