Flood Emergency Exercise

California Conservation Corps members practice filling sandbags to flood fight a simulated levee boil during a flood emergency exercise October 22, 2014, on Twitchell Island in Isleton, California.

The annual exercise, led by the California Department of Water Resources in conjunction with the Sacramento County Office of Emergency Services and Reclamation District 1601, is designed to improve communication and cooperation among the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District and partner agencies during flood emergencies in the Delta.
