Today, ship channel-related business provides $178.5 billion in annual economic activity and more than one million jobs to Texas.
Nationwide, it generates $499 billion and more than 2.1 million jobs.
The channel is critical to the nation’s energy security as home to the second largest petrochemical complex in the world.
