Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Co., LLC, from Oak Brook, Illinois, has won a $25.6 million firm-fixed-price contract for the Arthur Kill Channel Navigation project.

This development program will include the following activities: dredging, blasting and disposal of rock.

Work will be performed in Elizabeth, New Jersey (10 percent); Linden, New Jersey (40 percent); and Staten Island, New York (50 percent), with an estimated completion date of November 20, 2015.

Bids were solicited via the Internet, with three received. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District, is the contracting activity.

Founded in 1890, Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Company (GLDD) leads the North American market in dredging as the largest industry service provider, and is the only U.S. Company with substantial dredging operations overseas.

Leading a diverse dredging fleet, GLDD owns over 200 specialized maritime vessels and operates marine yards in six locations nationwide.
