The customer is Forsvarsbygg with the contract value at $12.9 million, the company reports.

Under the project, the Haakonsvern Naval Base dock will be renewed to suit the Royal Norwegian Navy’s new ship structure.

“We have previously worked together with Forsvarsbygg and this project is evidence of their confidence in us,” said Johan Hansson, Peab Region Manager.

“This is a very exciting project regarding both the actual construction work and in that we are furnishing Forsvarsbygg with better use of the dock.”

Also, Peab’s job entails reinforcement of the existing dock as well as ocean work that includes dredging the harbor basin.

The project also includes erecting two new dock buildings, electrical work and establishing technical infrastructure for the dock.

Construction will start at the end of 2020 and the project will be wrapped up by spring/summer 2022.
