Last month, two beautiful milestones were reached at the work Island of Brienenoord in Rotterdam.
The dredging work and ground move is finished, ‘the last ship’ has departed.
The 68 meter long movable bridge has also been installed.
By order of the municipality of Rotterdam, the Island of Brienenoord is transformed into a tidal park by G. van der Ven BV Aannemingsbedrijf and Martens and Van Oord.
“We lay down nature-friendly shores which gives space for tidal natures. This makes this island more attractive for special animals and plants. We are further building two new access bridges to improve accessibility,” said Martens and Van Oord.
The adjustments make the island an attractive place for recreation.
