During this dredging program at the mouth of the Bayfield River in the village of Bayfield, approximately 2900 cubic metres will be dredged from the area.

For this work, a barge excavator and trucks will be used to haul the dredge out of river.

The dredge will occur towards the end of May.

“Fisheries and Oceans Canada’s Small Craft Harbour Branch intends to make a determination regarding whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Fisheries and Oceans Canada is inviting public comments until May 15, 2021 respecting that determination,” according to their official announcement.
