Ihavandhoo Harbour development nears end

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) CEO, Adam Azim, inspected the progress on the Ha. Ihavandhoo Harbour development project today.

The work includes:

  • dredging and excavation operations – 30,509cbm;
  • construction of a 95m quay wall;
  • a 284m breakwater and a 178m revetment.

Additionally, the installation of navigation lights, streetlights and construction of 4,582m2 of paved area will also be undertaken.

The value of the Ihavandhoo Harbour development project is MVR 51.7 million ($3.3 million).

Ihavandhoo is an island of Ihavandhippolhu Atoll. It is located in the northernmost geographic atoll in the country, and is administratively part of Haa Alif Atoll.

It is an Atoll-island-level administrative constituency governed by the Ihavandhoo Island Council .
