Dredging operations are a crucial part in maintaining navigation channels.

Historically, dredged material has been stored in confined disposal facilities (CDFs), particularly when the material is determined to be contaminated.

Due to the limited space currently available within CDFs nationwide, new methods for sediment placement and use are currently being investigated.

The Interagency Ecological Restoration Quality Committee hosts monthly Webinars in an effort to present and discuss the innovations aimed at improving the quality of ecological restoration data.

Presentations are approximately 45 minutes in length, followed by open discussion.
