B. Kamadhoo Harbor dredging almost done

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) said recently that the company has made great progress on the reconstruction of the B. Kamadhoo Harbor.

As reported, dredging works for the new harbor basin are now almost complete.

The second shipment of Quay Wall blocks required for the B. Kamadhoo Harbor Reconstruction Project have been delivered to the project site. New harbor basin dredging works have reached 92% completion, and quay wall block installation work is currently ongoing at the site, said MTCC.

The $3 million project includes dredging and excavation of over 25,000 cbm of soil, construction of a 180m breakwater, a 628m revetment, a 346m quay wall, etc.

Overall, the B. Kamadhoo Harbor Reconstruction Project which was inaugurated this summer will be completed in mid-2023.
