The Dragon has been pumping sediment out of Bayou Rigaud, behind Grand Isle, in order to deepen and reestablish the navigation channel there.

This Series 1270 Dragon Dredge has been pulling up sediment from the bottom of the bayou through an 18-inch tube and depositing it nearly 4,500 feet away on the Fifi Island as part of an island nourishment project, which is designed to help rebuild the island.

The dredge is currently scheduled to complete its work at Grand Isle by the end of Spring 2023.
