CCCC giant dredger busy on Yangtze River

The Yangtze River is one of the world’s busiest navigable rivers, but it has been plagued by the problem of sediment siltation from the upstream every year since May. To ensure smoother and safer waterways, the Xinhaihu 8, China’s self-developed suction dredger built by China Communications Construction Company (CCCC), is working to clear away the silt.

According to CCCC, the dredger boasts a range of cutting-edge technologies, including the variable frequency driver, high-voltage power grid, and automatic dredging system.

It has also constantly updated the automatic cruise dredging system, automatic hydrological monitoring system, and mud pump full-cycle management and control system, making it highly reliable and environmentally friendly.
