Latvia: Japanese Entrepreneurs Show Interest in Riga Port Development

On May 11, with the interest in possible cooperation, Takashi Osanai, Ambassador of Japan in Latvia, and Kanji Goto, Third Secretary of the Embassy of Japan in Latvia, visited the Freeport of Riga Authority.

The main matter in discussions, joined by Leonīds Loginovs, CEO of the Freeport of Riga, and Edgars Sūna, Director of Department of Marketing, was connected with current operation and future prospects of the port, covering also development plans of the port. This visit will help Japanese entrepreneurs to assess cooperation possibilities with the Freeport of Riga, BC was informed by the press service of the port.

Japanese are interested in establishment of logistics centres, as well as investments in Europe. Within the frameworks of the visit, while boating, the visitors could get acquainted with work of the port.

Japanese delegation is satisfied with the visit and looks promisingly at development possibilities of the Freeport of Riga.
