Palm Beach Inlet Dredging About to Begin (USA)

Dredging on the Palm Beach Inlet is scheduled to begin this week depending on weather conditions, reports Palm Beach Daily News.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has awarded Cashman Dredging and Marine Contracting Company of Quincy, Mass, with a $1.4 million contract which calls for removal of approximately 60,000 and 125,000 cubic yards of sand. These undertakings are expected to be completed in a 30-day period.

Another contract for dredging about 300,000 cubic yards from the channel and an expanded sand settling basin will be awarded in the fall.
