Brant Beach Replenishment Moves Ahead (USA)

A spokesman for U.S. Army Corps of Engineers said that the beachfill project in the Brant Beach section of the township is halfway complete.

This $16.7 million project started in March.

The contractors will pump 1.2 million cubic yards of material on the 31st through 57th Street beaches.

Stephen Rochette, the Corps spokesman, said Thursday that close to 600,000 cubic yards of material has been pumped onto beaches so far.

Our goal is to be completed before Memorial Day, but it depends on weather conditions,” Rochette said.
