The Netherlands: Maasvlakte 2 Goes Red

Last week, the British-German artist duo HeHe realised a colourful art project on the new bathing beach of Maasvlakte 2.

For the project, entitled RODUIN, around 75 tonnes of red sand was spread on the beach, where it forms a large red stain that will gradually disappear under the influence of wind, rain and sea. Whether that will take a long time or happen very fast is uncertain and depends on the weather conditions.

RODUIN by HeHe is part of Portscapes 2, a series of art projects in the context of the construction of Maasvlakte 2. Portscapes is an initiative of the Port of Rotterdam Authority (Project Organisation Maasvlakte 2).

SKOR | Foundation for Art and Public Domain supports the project through funding and contribution of contents.
