USA: SEMO Port Remains Open

According to columbiamissourian.com, the ports along the Mississippi River in southeast Missouri are likely to remain open despite the extremely low water.

The problem is worsened because of severe flooding in 2011 that deposited silt and debris in areas that would normally be clear,” say officials.

One of the southeast Missouri ports, the SEMO Port, has already been dredged and that is the main reason it remains open.
