Canada: Dredging of Cedar Island Harbour Set for October

Dredging of Cedar Island Harbour Set for October

The Kingsville’s Cedar Island Harbour is in desperate need of dredging, according to Dan Krutsch with Landmark Engineers.

The current siltation of the harbour is making difficulties for boaters to access launch ramps, docks and fuel stations.

Regarding this critical condition of the harbour, Krutsch stated: “There is limited water depth at many locations, and that in combination with the low water levels we’re experiencing in the Great Lakes, it limits navigation. So, there is a warrant for dredging to improve conditions in the harbour.”

He added that the dredging program will likely commence in October, just after boating season, reports blackburnnews.com.
