USA: Santa Ana Dredging Project Extended

Santa Ana Dredging Project Extended

The Santa Ana River Dredging Project is being extended through the end of the month, following a late start by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, a city memo announced Tuesday.

In order to finish three weeks worth of work by the 31st, the Corps will work extended hours, weekends, and deploy extra crew members.

This project is being pushed for completion in order to preserve local bird’s nesting season.

The City, working in conjunction with the Corps, pushed for an extension of time allotted to complete the project because the alternative would involve demobilization and the Corps coming back in August to complete the job.
