Tampa Harbor DMPF Plan Announced

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District, has introduced a plan for the Tampa Harbor dredged material placement facility 3-D dike raising.

The works included in this contract are the decommissioning of six existing weirs, excavating unsuitable material in the dike footprint, raising 16,000 linear feet of dike up to elevation 39 feet, seeding and establishing vegetation on dike crests and slopes, applying road stabilization to ramp surfaces, fabricating and installing access to new weir structures, and clearing and grubbing.

Dredged Material Placement Facility (DMPF) 3-D is an existing dredged material management island that requires the dikes to be raised to increase capacity.

The total value of this development program is between $10 mln and $25 mln.

The solicitation will be issued on or about 25 June 2013, with proposals due on or about 25 July 2013.
