The Portage Lake Channel dredging program is finally complete.
During this cleanup project, over 25,000 cubic yards of sand was removed from the channel. The dredging area is 120 foot wide centered on the 360 foot wide channel, and it is at least 12 foot deep and 2100 foot long.
“Many thanks to the Portage Lake Harbor Commission and Onekama Township for all their efforts in getting this to happen and securing the funding (over $200,000),” the officials announced.
