Germany: Cuxport in Expansion Mode
Olaf Lies, Minister of Economic Affairs, Labour and Traffic of Lower Saxony, as well as Dr. Andreas Schmidt and Hans-Peter Zint, the managing directors of Cuxport, today signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the construction of Berth 4 on the Cuxport terminal in Cuxhaven.
After the implementation of the project, in the spring of 2017, Cuxport will have 85,000 square feet of space for cargo handling operations and a jetty of a length of 290 m.
“The Lower Saxony state government is aware of the importance of the port industry for the economic development of our state/province. The conditions for further growth in port business and the opportunity to create new jobs rises with the construction of Berth 4 in Cuxhaven, ” stated Olaf Lies.
The realization of Berth 4 will allow Cuxport to fulfill the various sector requirements for efficient logistics services in the future.
