Three complete 18″ Boosters heading out for Mexico on a rainy afternoon in Tennessee

Dredge Central, LLC has completed and delivered three 18-inch booster pump assemblies to Construcciones José, S.A. de C.V., of Mazatlan, Sinaloa.

These boosters will be placed into service on a long-pipeline project in the State of Sonora, dredging 1,310,000 cubic yards (1,000,000 cu.m) of sand to a maximum discharge distance of approximately 23,000 ft (7,000m).

BoosterEach booster consists of an 18”x 18” Georgia Iron Works dredge pump, powered by a Caterpillar Model 3508 diesel engine, with V-belt drive. All components except for the dredge pumps (supplied with new impellers) and the diesel engines, are new.

The entire new assembly is warranted by Dredge Central, LLC for 90 days.

This contractor also elected to include a remote control package, Kruse Integration’s AUTOBOOST system, which allows the dredge operator to monitor and coordinate the boosters from a laptop computer in the dredge control room. The cost for this option also includes on-site set-up and training by Kruse’s field technical personnel.

These three large booster assemblies, complete with the remote control packages, were purchased by the contractor for less than $400,000 each.

Dredge Central also sold another large, high-powered 18-inch booster for work on another long-line project in Belize. This package will feature a 1620-hp Caterpillar 3512 engine driving through a Twin Disc marine gear.
