GLDD Wins Baltimore Dredging Deal

Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Company recently won an $11.6 million worth contract for maintenance dredging of the Baltimore Harbor and channels.

Maintenance dredging of the Baltimore Harbor and surrounding channels is imperative to keeping the Port of Baltimore competitive and protecting the 122,000 local jobs it provides.

During the project, over 2,000,000 cubic yards of material consisting primarily of mud, silt, sand and shell will be dredged from the area.

The deadline to complete this project that will keep commerce moving through the Baltimore Harbor is December 14, 2015.

Also, the company was awarded a $6.7 million deal for maintenance dredging of Buttermilk Channel in Brooklyn, New York, with an estimated completion date of November 6, 2015.
